Laundry on vacation… *sad face*

Today we laid low and rested up some for more adventures. Everyone who wanted to sleep in go to do just that, we watched some TV (ABC Family and Disney channel and some Discovery channel), explored the hotel (there are a gift shop and a neat rooftop viewing area), did some laundry (special thank you to The Mommy for looking after us so well), checked out all our loot we’d purchased in the park or on our daily adventures and did some swimming. There were three of us who woke up early enough to go swimming first thing. We splashed around in the pool (it was an outdoor pool but covered, which is SUPER nice) and enjoyed the hot tubs.

For lunch we ended up at a “timeshare sales presentation”, both the presentation and the food were pretty good. There were around 20 people at the presentation, fairly common I’d assume. Not as much sales pressure as I was expecting to experience though. We got to learn about the Worldmark by Wyndham timeshares (I might invest in the WorldMark stock!). This Wordmark hotel is great, maybe not as great at the California Adventure Hotel by Disney but it’s pretty great. The suite they showed us on the top floor, as an example, was larger than our entire family home! Ya, HUGE!! It was very nice. Vinny was our salesperson and was quite pleasant to deal with, lots of knowledge, great stories and respectful of our opinions and time.

If we had more disposable income for some sort of Timeshare, this looks like the right one to choose! Not 100% sure though, the Disney Vacation one’s could be great also, I’ll tell you after I sit through one of those presentations next time! J

On that note, for sitting through the timeshare presentation we got an American Express cash card for use anywhere. For three hours worth of my time, it was worth the card which paid for a meal for my family on the trip.

All over southern California, there are these large, bumbling, clumsy green beetles flying around. They’ll smack into you, the wall and anything in their way. They are called the green June beetle, AKA the figeater beetle or green fruit beetles and are part of the “Jeweled beetle” family, the same family of the Egyptian scarab! They are quite a pretty/shiny green, we got to see one up close (dead in the pool) and another one I raised my hand and it bonked into it, fell into a small puddle. Because of this, we got to see it’s underbelly and then helped it up onto its feet and it bumbled off into the blue summer California sky.

To wrap up a great restful day, we had pizza delivered right to our room… if you ever have a chance to get that done, you should! We felt quite spoiled.
